Volunteers are crucial to the long-term success of any not-for-profit organization, and they are especially important in the Arts.

Volunteer for the Information programs

The goal of the Information stream of the ACN is to become the leading digital source of information regarding the arts. We will use leading edge technology and contemporary approaches to communicate to our members and the public.

Volunteering to help in our Information-related efforts is a great way to learn about contemporary approaches to communication and modern technology.

One example. We have a Twitter account and need a person to monitor the account and tweet appropriate messages to our followers. The volunteer would get help in getting oriented and learning about Twitter and tweeting.

Another example. We maintain a Google map of arts in the County. A volunteer helping maintain and expand this map would gain valuable experience with all aspects of Google's highly-regarded mapping service. And help the ACN to boot!

There are other volunteer roles that would benefit the ACN and the volunteer. Volunteer would be engaged in learning as well as helping the arts grow in the County and throughout the province. Learning in the Information programs goes two ways - if you have skills/knowledge of technolgy and want to learn about the arts and artists, this is a great way to do it. Likewise, anyone with an interest in the arts can learn more about contemporary technology - learning that can be applied to many aspects of your everyday life.
