Northumberland County is overflowing with resident musical talent
Fortunately, these musicians have many outlets for expression…. not one, but two orchestras, a concert band, five choirs, regular musical theatre productions and a number of smaller bands. The county also hosts prominent music events such as The All-Canadian Jazz Festival and the Shelter Valley Folk Festival, and is home to the marvellous Capitol Theatre as well as one of the country’s most unique concert venues, Westben Concerts at the Barn. Northumberland County’s Friends of Music presents at least 5 classical concerts throughout the fall and winter. This entirely volunteer run organization celebrated its 30th anniversary this year.
