What’s Coming? - At The Theatre And Dance

Steel Magnolias, Produced by Garth Holloway and Doreen Page, Directed by Chris M. Worsnop DINNER THEATRE at The Best Western Cobourg Inn and Convention Centre, Cobourg January 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, 31, February 5, 6 (matinee and evening) and 7, 2010. The story introduces us to a gaggle of gossiping ladies in a 1980's Louisiana small-town beauty parlour. The characters are familiar and engaging; truly hilarious in their joking as they cut up their local society with their biting yet honest insights, all the while fussing with their hair. The play swings between slap-your-sides comedy and dab-your-eyes tender moments. The ending is deeply moving; a skillfully crafted and lovingly evoked picture of kookiness and sisterhood.
