The Arts Council Of Northumberland is a non-profit
volunteer organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life within our
community by developing widespread appreciation of, support for and
involvement in the arts and culture. This newsletter covers theatre, music, lectures,
films, workshops and exhibitions. A separate, edition is devoted to the visual
arts and galleries. Past issues of the newsletters are available HERE.

ACN Member Of The Week Westben Concerts at
the Barn. The cake for 500 has been
ordered from Dooher’s Bakery, the grounds
crew is trimming, planting, shingling. The Box Office is explaining that all
400 seats have been reserved but please come, bring a lawn chair and sit in
the meadow. Artisans and local business partners are ready to set up on the meadow, musicians are rehearsing and evoking memories of
past productions. The Board is planning the next 10 years and Brian
can’t get the smile off his face. Please come
and join in the celebrations of past and future and the great community in

Permanent Collection. The Art Gallery of Northumberland's Collection Committee
has received a number of gifts to the collection during the past year. The
recent acquisitions will be listed in the annual report and they are grateful
to all who have made these contributions to the gallery. Recently, the AGN
was offered four drawings by Harriet Clench.
Clench was Paul Kane's wife and the

Gallery, Port Hope "Ties that Bind". Robert Malinowski and Erin Glover
are two young artists who departed for their honeymoon in NYC (really!) on
the weekend following the opening. They have produced a series of drawings
which are romantic and just a tiny bit odd...capturing the truth and
intensity of married life. Svava Thordis Juliusson is a sculptor who works with zip ties
and other found materials. She will be installing sculpture from the "Svona, Svona" series. (this is a term of consolation in Icelandic, roughly
meaning "there, there"). Melanie MacDonald –
opening " MacDonald was included in the
"Emerging Artist" category for the Magenta Foundation's book, Carte
Blanche 2, which honours Wendi Robbins at
Gallery 121 Exhibits on a

has a display of paintings upstairs at The Mill Restaurant ,

invokes the creative spirits for this self-taught pencil artist. She states
that she has the utmost respect for texture, depth and shading which she
combines to capture a most accurate representation of the image in pencil. Local

showcasing national and local talent as well as fundraising, presented in the
picturesque Trent Hills of Northumberland County.The day will begin with a

a live art auction. A sensuous gala dinner prepared by Executive Chef Robert
Buchanan of Acqua Ristorante
