Organizations: Visual Arts

Northumberland County is rich in the visual arts.

The county offers public galleries, artist run galleries and a wide variety of commercial galleries. Northumberland is also home to many of Canada’s professional artists and artisans.

Any journey through the region can include a wide variety of exciting exhibitions.

Art de Triomphe

Art de Triomphe is a group of people with disabilities who have found creative expression as a way to overcome their challenges.

Art de Triomphe would like to encourage other persons with disabilities develop their creativity and enrich their lives through art. Our goal is to provide support and encouragement to persons with disabilities by offering programs in individual development in a congenial and supportive environment.

Colborne Art Gallery

The Colborne Society of Artists brings together a diverse group of creative people working independently in a variety of media. Their paintings, drawings, etchings, pottery and sculpture are on display year-round at the gallery in the historic village of Colborne, ninety minutes east of Toronto, near the shore of Lake Ontario.

Friday Morning Group

Our Friday Morning Group meets weekly at the Port Hope Recreation Center, McCaul Street - except for July and August. Working in varied mediums, our positive interaction boosts everyone’s creativity and enjoyment. Pine Ridge Art Association

The Pine Ridge Art Association meets every Monday at the Oddfellows Hall, Victoria Street, Cobourg. The program runs from January to June and September to December except for holidays. Our Annual Art Show is held every October at the Cobourg Public Library. Visual artists of all media are represented.

ZimArt, Rice Lake Gallery

The gallery's primary focus is Zimbabwean, hand carved, Shona stone sculpture. The curator, Fran Fearnley, travels to Zimbabwe annually to select the work. Open year round by appointment, the gallery also hosts several annual outdoor exhibitions, including the Rice Lake Series.
