The Northumberland Film groups aim to celebrate past, present and future achievements of Canadian and international filmmaking by showing non-mainstream and vintage movies not otherwise available on our local big screens.

The Marie Dressler Foundation Vintage Film Festival
Founded over ten years ago, the Foundation annually presents a festival of films made before 1940, one of which will star Marie Dressler. Films range from very old silents featuring the likes of Mary Pickford, Erich von Stroheim, and Douglas Fairbanks, to talkies and musicals. The Festival is held during October in Victoria Hall in Cobourg and the Capitol Arts Centre in Port Hope.

We are a not-for-profit group of film lovers dedicated to offering our community a broad range of non-mainstream movies not otherwise available on our local big screens. We select films from a menu of contemporary "hot picks" offered by "The Circuit ", a division of the Toronto International Film Festival.
