Bio

Mary McEwan lives on Presqui’le Point, Brighton. She paints watercolour, pastel, aqua-media and acrylics and has been accepted in many juried shows. She has work in several galleries.

Her paintings are presently in Australia, England, France, United States and Canada. Mary has studied with several instructors in Canada, United States and France. Her work is mostly whimsical and usually humorous. She paints bright coloured landscapes but is mostly known for her paintings of humans and animals with attitude.

She belongs to the Eastern Ontario Art Association, Quinte Arts Council, Northumberland Art Gallery and is president and past treasurer of Northumberland Art Association, Spirit of the Hills. Mary teaches ballroom and latin dancing with Ireland Studios and Loyalist College in Belleville. She is also treasurer of the newly formed T.G.I.F. Dance in Brighton. Her other passion is Dragon Boating and is an avid fan and promoter of the sport at the Brighton Dragon Boat Club where she is treasurer.

Mary is the owner of MCEWANSGOLD Kennel and raises purebred Golden Retrievers.
