Bio

Josie was born in France and raised in Slovenia and Germany. After arriving in Canada in 1954, she lived in Ottawa where she met her husband John. Soon after moving to Cobourg in 1955, Josie worked, while raising her two daughters.

Throughout these years, Josie practiced and honed her culinary and baking skills, developed her incredible “green thumb”, as well as becoming an accomplished seamstress.

As of 2003, she has taken up painting with oils on canvas which she enjoys immensely. Under the guidance of Joanne Purdy in Grafton, Josie continues her quest for artistic knowledge. Her strong love of nature is reflected in her landscapes, seascapes and flowers.

Josie is a member of the Art Gallery of Northumberland, The Arts Council of Northumberland and has exhibited her work in the Lion’s Art Show and sale at the Waterfront Festival since 2006.
