Artist's Statement
I am inspired by the work of the Impressionists and use this method in my rug hooking by painting with wool. I try to use as many other fibres as possible to complement the piece that I am working on. My favourite style of rug hooking is working with finer cuts to achieve the detail that I want. I am currently working on several pictorials, a series of faces and “funky” cats. My work has been shown at various locations throughout Brighton and Northumberland County with the Brighton Arts Council; St. Lawrence College, Brockville; Trent University, Peterborough; Green Mountain Rug School, Vermont, U.S.A.; and various locations throughout Ontario with the Ontario Hooking Craft Guild.
